Dear Volunteers,

Winters are always a busy time at Meals on Wheels in Greater New Brunswick. It is also a time to reflect on what makes our organization so special: our volunteers!

This winter, our volunteers successfully delivered daily meals to our seniors throughout the holiday season, including cooked frozen meals for Thanksgiving and Christmas, complete with all the trimmings. Below we recognize our 2022 volunteers who make this work possible through their tireless service. We truly couldn’t do it without them.

Read further to meet another indispensable member of our organization: our President of the Board of Directors, Harriet Worobey. She talks about her important role in the organization in the first of our new interview series with our volunteers and staff! Finally, we hope you will Save the Date for our 2023 Fundraiser.

To learn more about these exciting happenings at Meals on Wheels in Greater New Brunswick, check out our Winter Newsletter below. As always, we thank you for your ongoing service and support to our organization.

Meet Our Board President: An Interview with Harriet Worobey

How would you describe Meals on Wheels in five words?

Nutrition, Lifeline, Caring, Service, Community

What is your favorite part about working for Meals on Wheels in Greater New Brunswick?

In addition to my administrative duties, I also deliver meals, so I get to interact with our clients, which I love.  I also love encouraging our diverse board in coming up with new ways to serve the homebound seniors of New Brunswick and Highland Park.

What do you want people to know about Meals on Wheels in Greater New Brunswick?

We are “more than a meal!”  Not only do we serve two meals a day, five days a week, but we are there to make sure of the health and safety of our clients.
