Dear Volunteers,

This fall, our Meals on Wheels community has been as vibrant as the season itself—filled with new connections, creative gatherings, and the shared joy of helping others. Every visit, delivery, and conversation you share with our clients brings comfort and kindness to someone’s day. Your efforts remind us that Meals on Wheels is more than a meal—it’s a lifeline of friendship and care that keeps our community strong.

In this issue, you’ll find highlights from a wonderful few months, including our participation in the 25th Annual Senior Walk and a cheerful arts-and-crafts visit with our North Brunswick neighbors. You’ll also find an invitation to our Volunteer Appreciation Luncheon, where we’ll take a moment to celebrate you and all that you make possible.

Friendly Visits, Autumn Wreaths & Warm Hearts!

This season, we hosted a Friendly Visit and arts & crafts session at a North Brunswick senior building, where we currently serve Meals on Wheels clients.

These Friendly Visit group gatherings are open to all residents, and this one brought together 20 neighbors for a wonderful afternoon.

Participants learned about the services Meals on Wheels provides, created festive Fall wreaths for their apartment doors or to give as gifts, enjoyed light refreshments, and received hygiene supply bags generously donated by Rutgers Collaborative Group of Community Engagement.

Thank you to Margaret Driscoll, who donated her time, talent, and material for the wreaths!

Events like these help us spread joy, foster community, and connect seniors with resources that support their independence!

You Are Invited to the MOWGNB Volunteer Appreciation Luncheon!

Meals on Wheels at the 25th Annual Senior Walk

On September 24th, MOWGNB proudly participated in Middlesex County’s 25th Annual Senior Walk. Over 800 seniors came out for the event, making it a fantastic day of wellness, connection, and community spirit.

Our team had the chance to share Meals on Wheels informational materials with many participants and connect with other organizations that support older adults.

Our Programs at a Glance

Meals on Wheels is more than just daily meal delivery we’re here to support seniors in many ways. Along with weekday meal delivery, we also provide weekend meals, telephone reassurance calls, and friendly visits/callers to help combat isolation.

Our team offers mobile cleaning supply delivery, and through our Air Conditioner and Microwave Program, we help ensure seniors have the tools they need to stay safe and comfortable at home.

We’re also proud to provide a Fresh Summer/Fall Produce Program, delivering seasonal fruits and vegetables to encourage healthy eating. Each program is designed to promote independence, dignity, and well-being for the older adults we serve.
